Unite to Fight Poverty

Case Study

During the Covid-19 pandemic as in-person events shut down, global nonprofits Food for the Hungry, World Vision, and Compassion International came together to create, Unite to Fight, an online concert.

Raising awareness and funds on behalf of those suffering in vulnerable communities, the concert was a powerful and innovative fundraising experience.

Challenge

Food for the Hungry (FH) needed an overview video to cast a vision for its disaster relief efforts during the pandemic.

It was crucial the video be emotionally and visually evocative, communicating heartbreak and hope.

Approach

Together with our agency partner and internal team, we strategized on positioning FH as a timely organization in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To create a visually compelling video, we explored storytelling devices used in both film and news media.

Strategy

Our team mapped out a structure for the video that would move viewers from tragedy to redemption.

We created a movie-like introduction with layered sound effects to evoke the feeling of stepping into a powerful film.

We blended real-life footage, news media, and cinematic footage to lend poignant depth to a complex subject.

For the voice-over script, we struck a careful balance of realism and hope, calling viewers to meaningful action.

Impact

This shared effort, between these three global changing organizations, brought awareness, resulting in over 17 million impressions. among these three global change organizations raised
